Working together to stamp out hunger through the
Bright Paws Pet Food Bank - a program of the Bright Star Center for Grieving Children & Families
 
 
Hospice of Health First's Bright Star Center for Grieving Children and Families has created the Bright Paws Pet Food Bank, a program designed to provide food for pet owners struggling to keep their pets. 
 
The Bright Paws Pet Food Bank project is led by the teen volunteers participating in the Bright Star Program for Grieving Children. Since March 2009 teens in this program have collected and distributed 13,000+ pounds of food to 300 families in need so they can keep/feed their pets.  
  
 
There are several ways you may help this great cause!
 
  • Donations of unopened and unexpired pet food and monetary donations are being accepted at
    • Puppies Plus in the Melbourne Square Mall, OR 
    • Hospice of Health First office located at 1900 Dairy Road in West Melbourne 

 

  • Purchase any California Natural or Evo dry food bag 13 lbs or more, or an engraved ID tag from Puppies Plus, and Puppies Plus will donate a portion of the proceeds to this great cause (this is available for in-store purchases only) 
    • Just look for the Bright Paws logo on these specially marked products

 

  • If making an online purchase on puppiesplus.net, we have made "Donate Now" buttons available throughout our website for the Bright Paws Pet Food Bank.  Just look for the Bright Paws logo depicted to the right

Are you a pet owner in need of help from the Bright Paws Pet Food Bank? 

 

  • Distributions are made the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Hospice of Health First office located at 1900 Dairy Road in West Melbourne

 

  • Hours of distribution are from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm or until food runs out
